A general strike for our rights

In La Rioja the idle 20.000 have already excelled themselves. In the whole Spain the number is of more than four millions, with more than one million workpeople without receiving any type of welfare. The situation of the workpeople, as a result of the crisis of the capitalism, is every time worse and it becomes necessary to offer an alternative by which to be mobilized.
If this was not sufficient, the Government of the Spanish socialist party increases the VAT, which it burdens equally independently of the revenue, wants to reduce in 50.000 million the public expenditure, what will be translated in minor public employment and less services in health, education or social services and threatens us with more clippings of our rights with a new labor reform and worse retirement pensions. The Government yields to the pressures of the management one, who applauds them and asks more, loading the cost of the crisis on the backs of the workpeople while the banks and the big companies have at his disposal hundreds of thousands of million euros of the public treasury. From Izquierda Unida we understand that there has come the hour of giving a collective answer of the whole labor and popular movement. To continue as till now it is not an alternative since he condemns us to suffer impotent aggression after aggression, since the magnitude of the problems that we suffer cannot be solved fighting in isolated companies or in only one sector. There is necessary a global answer of the whole labor movement and of his trade union, social and political organizations.
The called «social dialogue» cannot give solution to the evil that appear us. The management one has already expressed which his desires are: to low the price of the wages, to prolong the work days, to reduce the rights of the workpeople eliminating the effectiveness of the collective agreements and the judicial tutelage, to low the price of the dismissal and that they reduce the social quotations and the taxes to him, but that transfer more public resources route subsidies, contracts and new privatizations. What class of agreement will the management one sign? The only one that gives them at least part of these claims.
The Government is not capable of defending the interests of the workpeople. It has transferred tens thousands of millions to the financial system, while the idle ones that finish his services have to manage with a help for 430 euros for six months. It has supported all the regressive labor laws approved in past terms and that are being used against the workpeople. And, the same way as the crisis extends, more it yields to the pretensions of the management one and the organisms of the international capitalism, raising a clipping of the pensions and a labor reform that will aggravate more the situation of the workpeople. The PP, which if it was governing would apply the politics of management, criticizes with cynicism the Government and one rubs the hands because one sees already in The Moncloa.
The only way of changing this situation is with the mobilization, since the only pressure that now the Government receives is that of the management one. In a crisis context, the struggle company to company, or sector to sector, is insufficient. In the area purely economic, the worker is much weaker than the businessman. And, in crisis conditions, with more than four millions of stopped, his situation is still more awkward. For not speaking about the workpeople without employment, who remain his luck left if there does not appear a general action of the whole labor movement. In a market economy, the workpeople we are one more goods to be exploited, whose "price" is ruled by the law of supply and the demand, and the management one takes advantage of it. Only the struggle can change this forces interrelation, forcing this government to step back in his aggressions and to respect the interests of the workpeople. Moreover, the gravity of the raised problems they cannot already be solved in the field of the collective bargaining, but they demand the promulgation of new laws that should guarantee the rights of the workpeople. Measurements as that it has raised Izquierda Unida to give a draft and an exit to the crisis for the left:
. A law of 35 hours is necessary without wage reduction, of immediate implantation, like the first step to absorb the high existing unemployment.
. It is necessary to guarantee that quite hard-working in unemployment it has right to a subsidy like equal minimum to the SMI while a job is not guaranteed.
. It is necessary to establish of immediate form a SMI for 1.100 euros, as well as to establish also a maximum salary.
. There is necessary the elimination of the contracts garbage. The temporary hiring only for temporary works, the rest all the work places with indefinite contract and indemnification of 45 days for worn out year.
. It is necessary to tackle a really progressive fiscal reform so that they pay more those that more they have and the tax evasion fights.
These measurements should go accompanied by the development of the public sector in all the ambiences of the economy, especially the financier, with the nationalization of the banking. It is a necessary revertir the privatizations of these last years and to develop the public sector starting by the social services, but reaching to the set of the economy. These claims can join the set of the workpeople, public and private, with indefinite or temporary contract, to young people, to immigrants, to workpeople of the industry and the services, autonomous, in the search of a horizon different from exit from the crisis. For all this, from Izquierda Unida we call to the regional and state directions of all the trade unions of class to which they assume his responsibilities and give all the necessary steps to prepare the unitary call of a general strike of 24 hours, against the intentions of the management one and the Government, and for the defense of a few living conditions and work you deign for all. Only the unit in the struggle of the labor movement can finish this attacks climb and defend our rights. The answer cannot take a long time any more.
