IN DEFENSE OF THE PENSIONS. OPPOSITE TO THE DESPAIR, THERE IS ALTERNATIVE

With the reform the Government wants:

In Izquierda Unida we are going to fight so that:
 The retirement age does not increase over 65 years.
 The calculation period does not increase to calculate the pension beyond 15 years.
 The pensions revalue at least the same that the prices (IPC) increase and even more for the lowest pensions. We are going to do it mobilizing us in the street to show to the Government the rejection to these measurements and proposing in the Parliament a Law to guarantee the rights of all the pensioners and to stop the "pensionazo".
THE REFORM OF THE GOVERNMENT IS AN INJUSTICE AND, ALSO, UNNECESSARY.
IT IS AN INJUSTICE BECAUSE...
It cuts away the pensions to the value of 80.000 millions as the information of the Government gathered in the Plan of Austerity that has sent Brussels.
When it is applied completely, there will be 12 million pensioners (3,5 millions more that now) and 80.000 million euros less for pensions, that is to say 6.600 euros per year less for pensioner.

A general strike for our rights

If this was not sufficient, the Government of the Spanish socialist party increases the VAT, which it burdens equally independently of the revenue, wants to reduce in 50.000 million the public expenditure, what will be translated in minor public employment and less services in health, education or social services and threatens us with more clippings of our rights with a new labor reform and worse retirement pensions. The Government yields to the pressures of the management one, who applauds them and asks more, loading the cost of the crisis on the backs of the workpeople while the banks and the big companies have at his disposal hundreds of thousands of million euros of the public treasury. From Izquierda Unida we understand that there has come the hour of giving a collective answer of the whole labor and popular movement. To continue as till now it is not an alternative since he condemns us to suffer impotent aggression after aggression, since the magnitude of the problems that we suffer cannot be solved fighting in isolated companies or in only one sector. There is necessary a global answer of the whole labor movement and of his trade union, social and political organizations.
The called «social dialogue» cannot give solution to the evil that appear us. The management one has already expressed which his desires are: to low the price of the wages, to prolong the work days, to reduce the rights of the workpeople eliminating the effectiveness of the collective agreements and the judicial tutelage, to low the price of the dismissal and that they reduce the social quotations and the taxes to him, but that transfer more public resources route subsidies, contracts and new privatizations. What class of agreement will the management one sign? The only one that gives them at least part of these claims.
The Government is not capable of defending the interests of the workpeople. It has transferred tens thousands of millions to the financial system, while the idle ones that finish his services have to manage with a help for 430 euros for six months. It has supported all the regressive labor laws approved in past terms and that are being used against the workpeople. And, the same way as the crisis extends, more it yields to the pretensions of the management one and the organisms of the international capitalism, raising a clipping of the pensions and a labor reform that will aggravate more the situation of the workpeople. The PP, which if it was governing would apply the politics of management, criticizes with cynicism the Government and one rubs the hands because one sees already in The Moncloa.
The only way of changing this situation is with the mobilization, since the only pressure that now the Government receives is that of the management one. In a crisis context, the struggle company to company, or sector to sector, is insufficient. In the area purely economic, the worker is much weaker than the businessman. And, in crisis conditions, with more than four millions of stopped, his situation is still more awkward. For not speaking about the workpeople without employment, who remain his luck left if there does not appear a general action of the whole labor movement. In a market economy, the workpeople we are one more goods to be exploited, whose "price" is ruled by the law of supply and the demand, and the management one takes advantage of it. Only the struggle can change this forces interrelation, forcing this government to step back in his aggressions and to respect the interests of the workpeople. Moreover, the gravity of the raised problems they cannot already be solved in the field of the collective bargaining, but they demand the promulgation of new laws that should guarantee the rights of the workpeople. Measurements as that it has raised Izquierda Unida to give a draft and an exit to the crisis for the left:
. A law of 35 hours is necessary without wage reduction, of immediate implantation, like the first step to absorb the high existing unemployment.
. It is necessary to guarantee that quite hard-working in unemployment it has right to a subsidy like equal minimum to the SMI while a job is not guaranteed.
. It is necessary to establish of immediate form a SMI for 1.100 euros, as well as to establish also a maximum salary.
. There is necessary the elimination of the contracts garbage. The temporary hiring only for temporary works, the rest all the work places with indefinite contract and indemnification of 45 days for worn out year.
. It is necessary to tackle a really progressive fiscal reform so that they pay more those that more they have and the tax evasion fights.
These measurements should go accompanied by the development of the public sector in all the ambiences of the economy, especially the financier, with the nationalization of the banking. It is a necessary revertir the privatizations of these last years and to develop the public sector starting by the social services, but reaching to the set of the economy. These claims can join the set of the workpeople, public and private, with indefinite or temporary contract, to young people, to immigrants, to workpeople of the industry and the services, autonomous, in the search of a horizon different from exit from the crisis. For all this, from Izquierda Unida we call to the regional and state directions of all the trade unions of class to which they assume his responsibilities and give all the necessary steps to prepare the unitary call of a general strike of 24 hours, against the intentions of the management one and the Government, and for the defense of a few living conditions and work you deign for all. Only the unit in the struggle of the labor movement can finish this attacks climb and defend our rights. The answer cannot take a long time any more.

More untenable infrastructures thanks to the Law of Sustainable Economy

The future Law of Sustainable Economy will be used to support the expense in infrastructures in spite of the budgetary clippings. Ecologistas in Action thinks that it is a clear example of how the Law does not look for the sostenibilidad.

José Blanco, the Minister of Promotion, announced that, despite the budgetary clipping foreseen for his department, there will be supported the investments foreseen in infrastructures for 15.000 million euros up to 2011, 7.000 for this year.

For it he will encourage the public-private agreements, so that the financing is in 50 % for the European Investment Bank (BEI), between 20 and 30 % for the Institute of Official Credit (ICO), and the rest, to equal parts, between the constructors adjudicatarias of the work and the banking. To obtain the private money public guarantees will be realized for the loans, all the risk of the investment being transferred to public entities.

The infrastructures to which José Blanco refers are included in the Strategic Plan of Infrastructures of Transport (PEIT), which supposes 6.000 new kilometers of divided highways and 9.000 high speed, between that they are the BIRD to Gallicia, as pointed out also yesterday the Minister. At present we are already the European country with more kilometers of divided highways and, this year, we will be the first country of the world in number of kilometers of high railroad speed. All this produces that the greenhouse effect gas emission in the sector of the transport is untied.

The mechanism of public-private financing will be facilitated by the future Law of Sustainable Economy, at present in procedure process. In particular the articles understood in the chapter V.

For Ecologists in Action there remains, once again, clear the void environmental sensibility of this Government, both on his political initiatives, and for the legislation that it impels.

Not to the woodland clippings in the square of the Doctor Zubía

Of a time to this part the center of the city has been losing part of the most singular woodland and of major freightage that it had supported till now. The squares and green spaces of the center are conceived like areas semiopened where the trees play a very secondary role, of mere ornaments, which are replaced in successive reshapings. These places are more determined to that any type of event could be realized in them during the whole year, which to provide a green space in the center.

In this process years ago already lost 3 cedars that were accompanying the one that now remains a recluse in the square of the Market. No municipal corporation has worried about returning that image of the big cedars along with the cathedral of the Redonda and they seem that they hope that the last one should die to clear well the square for fairs, stands and activities of the most mixed.

Nobody restored the impressive cedar of the Lebanon that died in the works of the Spur not also, instead of it there was placed a sculpture that well might have occupied any other space.

The last spaces reshapings in the center we already know well how they finish, a few trees lose all hope straight and others stay dry months later after the absence of care with which the works are attacked. Everything seems to import little, so then it hides with numbers of new planted trees that like much they will have another 10 or 15 years until a new reshaping starts them again. The result is a center with decorative woodland of scarce freightages and with little environmental or hereditary interest.

In case of the square of Dr. Zubía it is a question of one of few places of the center of Logronio where it raises a small migrating owl, the tawny owl. There is greedy night that feeds on insects, can be listened here in the way of the city between April and September and occupies the square precisely because it is one of the few ones that still supports certain woodland with entity. It talks each other of a luxury to be provided with a species like that to scarce meters of our houses and that although every time it has it more difficult for the disappearance of the woodland of major freightage.

Some years ago the square already suffered an important clipping, in both sidewalks of the street Duchess of La Victoria all the trees were felled. In that occasion it was said that it was necessary to remove some trees that were in the bad state and that would be restored immediately, any it can consult the newspaper archives of the epoch.

Everything what they removed neither was in the bad state, only one tree nor was restored, during a time the basins stayed opened to cheat the citizens and when everything happened they closed with the same paving of the perimeter of the square.

Anyone can verify it nowadays, there there are already not the trees that existed but the sealed basins are foreseen and along with them a line of parked cars that then were not and that, those yes, they do not seem to bother anybody.

Sadly we verify that from the town hall, there neither was then, there is not even now, interest to support the patrimony that supposes the woodland of the square of Dr. Zubía. A woodland capable of giving shelter to a species as singular as the tawny owl, which against wind and tide continues there, although perhaps not in a lot of time. That's why before the announcement of the municipal team of opening skylights in the square, we demonstrate very clearly, Ecologistas in Action will not allow one more clipping in the woodland of the Square of Dr. Zubía.

The equality cannot wait

We celebrate the International Day of the Woman inside a persistent and serious economic crisis, where the incapability of the Government to catch it is giving place to measurements that attack straight the society of the called well-being and the social conquests of the hard-working class, with more and more aggressive neoliberal politics.
In this context the consequences are even major for the women due to the historical inequality that already of for themselves crawl. It is for it that the equality cannot wait, only with the effective and real equality the women we will be able to overcome the conditions that are imposing on us.
There is especially excellent the spurious rentabilización of the Government of the Spanish socialist party, in his semester of presidency of the European Union. Using laws as that of Equality, violence or that of voluntary interruption of the pregnancy, to silence the economic disaster and the absence of social advances; and to give an image of European patrol in equality politics, that enough of the reality is distant, not only for the plain contents and for his disappointing application, but for his clear lack of interest for this politics, as well it shows the ridiculous economic allocation in the general Budgets of the State.
The Federal Area of the Woman of IU denounces in this March 8 the passivity on the part of the government who definitely whom it is harming more is to the women. The proposals concerning the Agreements of Toledo, indicate that the economically more depressed sectors, they are going to suffer with hardness the effects of a crisis generated by the big capital. Between them the women we are straight indicated by the reform of the pensions, the wage clippings, the price reduction of the dismissals... since we are we that from the beginning we have worse labor conditions.
The last information offered by the INI does not leave doubt: of 2.470.700 part-time works of last trimester 1.917.800 are occupied by women (101.800 more than three months ago) and the feminine unemployment valuation is in 19,07 %. The measurements that the government of the Spanish socialist party adopts, are directed to keep on promoting exclusively the real estate industry, the brick and the town-planning speculation, leaving aside the investment in infrastructures and public services.
With this politics, not only it keeps on promoting the unemployment in other productive sectors, but also, it is left to the women in a situation of major instability that earlier. The government of the Spanish socialist party has begun in the negligence up to its own labor commitments acquired in the effective law of equality.
IU demands from the Government:

• That the local investment fund for the employment is accompanied of the obligatory report of impact of genre that guarantees the women's employment in socially necessary labor initiatives.
• That in the public Investment give priority to investments and infrastructures of public service, without limiting itself to sectors eminently masculinized like the construction, the asphalt and the motorcar.
• That is finished once and for all with the wage differences between men and women in jobs of equal value.
• That is included obligatorily in the public contracts, real measurements of equality in the hiring and in the employment.
• That puts under an obligation to the public and private enterprises to which they have Plans of Equality.
• That recognizes the economic contribution of the women after himself in the works not considered like productive (upbringing, care, domestic tasks, etc.)
• That there assigns to himself 5 % of the whole of the Budget to politics “woman“ specific and transverse. In this March 8 we call to the mobilizations that from the women's movement, are realized in favor of the effective equality of the women.

The feminización of the poverty is alarming. The consequences of the economic crisis in Spain are reverberating especially in the women of the hard-working class, especially the young people and the immigrants, and the situation does not improve. Most of the persons poor and excluded from the society and without coverages we are women. Spain is the paradigm of structural unemployment, being the valuation of feminine unemployment of 19 %. Our labor market is characterized principally by the part-time abuse of the temporality and the hiring, especially for the women, as well as by the wage discrimination, which keeps on supporting concerning 30 %. On the other hand, the low valuation of feminine activity demonstrates that the care keeps on relapsing almost exclusive into the same ones. The decrease of the family budget so much for the precarización of the working conditions, of the unemployment and for the decrease of the real salary, produces very negative effects in the women. The rachitic welfare state does not advance but it steps back. I less budget for the law of dependency, privatization of the public services and clipping of the pensions, what harms especially the women who are those who finally assume the basic familiar works of the life. At the same time we are suffering a political and ideological attack on the rights conquered by the women's movements. The politics for the genre equality receives strong attacks on the part of the political right, the judicial system and the catholic church. There are an example of it, the public declarations of the judge Serrano in against the law of violence of genre, affirming that there are many false denunciations and that this law is a fruit of the “dictatorship of the radical feminism” or those of the Archbishop of Granada against the law of the abortion, comparing it with Hitler's crimes. From the Secretariat of the Woman we show that there is necessary the expansion of the social expense to finish with the inequality. A major public provision of goods and socially essential services: education, health, attention to the dependency, programs of social integration, public housing, transport … fixing like target reaching the levels of social expense of the countries of our environment is the second route for a selective expansion of the demand. It is the example more clearly how the attention to the social needs can be translated in the creation of stable employment and with rights, whenever this one comes from hand of a direct expansion of the sphere of the public sector in the economy. A part not despicable at all of this socially necessary work is realized at present, I conceal after the cloak of the domestic work and, more recently, with the “globalization of the work of care” in charge of immigrant labor for the most part feminine. The transformation of this secret work in socially recognized work places is an imperative in a society with minor genre inequality. For all this it is necessary: • Working day 35h for law, without rights reduction. • Equitable share-out of the work and of the responsibilities between women and men. • Stable employment and with rights. • Wage equality. • Budgetary endowment, application and development of the laws of equality and of dependency. • Municipal politics to do the habitable cities for the women. • Fiscal reform. That pay more those that more they have, for the development of stable public employment for the women. • To abolish the sexual development for law.
